Ára

Ára was Fiona’s birthday present for one of her ‘significant’ birthdays (you know the ones – end in a Zero somewhere between 30 and 110). At the time I forgot to mention that it entailed a three day trip to Belgium to collect Ára’s mum and then an eight month wait whilst Kolvör baked Ára – on 2nd July 2009 we had a successful foaling and here are the results.

Ára’s sire is a fancy stallion (currently) in Iceland – IS2001135613 – Glymur frá Innri-Skeljabrekku – who (as of February 2011) has 232 registered offspring – these are mostly registered  in Iceland but a few have been exported in utero and have been registered in Belgium (1),  Switzerland (1), Germany (4), Denmark (6), UK(1),  Holland (3), Norway (1), Sweden (3), and the USA (1).   218 have a BLUP and they range from 96 to 118 with an average of 108.4

Ára has a BLUP of 111 which is fine and dandy.
