Ari
Meet Ari – he’s tall, dark, lithe and handsome – just what SWMBO thought that she was getting with me (short, grey, dumpy and ugly) 
Ari was born in 2002 out of Komma from Rifkelsstöðum (owned by Smári at Edda Hestar) by Hávarður from Hávarðarkoti (owned by Mike Adams) and came our way in September 2007 after a sort of mini – Hestkaup at the Oakfield Icelandics September Show.
He is a brother to Tinna and uncle to Gola which makes the whole thing a little bit incestuous – well, it would do if Ari was not a gelding so I guess it’s not really relevant, just means that our collection of black horses is growing. Kind of like a gangly teenager, Ari was all elbows and knees when he arrived and, over his first winter with us, matured into the tall, lithe horse that he is now.
Being an internet savvy sort of pony he had read up on what he was getting himself into and, having spotted Huni’s page, Ari immediately became golden boy numero two. Okay – so, he’s not golden coloured but he’s still slipped straight into the ‘number one gelding belonging to SWMBO’ slot which means mucho goodies, snogs, cuddles and other ‘girlie’ demonstrations of affection (I should be so lucky – huh?)
