2008 Foals - Gola and Vinur
Meet Gola (the big black one) and Vinur (the small, rusty coloured one) our 2008 foals. Gola was born on 30th May amidst a howling gale and torrential name - we thought her name (meaning "Breeze") to be somewhat appropriate.
Vinur was born in broad daylight during the only sunny day we had in June - the 26th - his name translates as "Friend" and, whilst he is friendly he is also a lot less forward and 'in yer face' than Gola the Bruiser.
Gola is out of Tinna by Dropi from Salisbury and Vinur is out of Starjna by Brekki vom Schloss Neubronn - not sure if they are four gaited, five gaited, pacey, trotty, whatever - pop back in four years and I'll maybe have it sussed (after all I did diagnose Vinur to be a filly when he first popped out into the sunshine and it was not until the evening when SWMBO turned up that he was correctly sexed - and that was even without me wearing my beer goggles - you can just imagine the fun I had in the rip roaring 1980s in steamy London after a few pints of shandy)
